WHAT IS COSPLAY?

Breaking it down, the word Cosplay means 'costume-play'.

A modern craft practice enjoyed around the world, involving people who dress up

as their favourite characters from films, video games, books, anime and/or manga.

 

There is an abundance of talent within the global Cosplay community; 

It takes time, patience and skill to successfully pull off a character and bring it to life.

Some Cosplayers prefer to construct their own costumes,

while others prefer to commission specialist designers & costumiers to construct their garments, wigs and accessories for them - either way is totally acceptable!

 

The Cosplay community is greatly diverse,

and those who participate usually possess unique skills, such as sewing, tailoring, 

prop-making, special FX body-painting, and makeup artistry;

Some people are so good at makeup it almost seems they've changed their look by magic!

 

All of these creative people come together at conventions & events

to share their love & passion for the art of Cosplay.
